I confronted another one of his uncles, whose house had been used for the engagement party. It turned out that they had known about my husband's girlfriend all along, and I felt so betrayed and hurt. I went to the hotel where he had always stayed while in Abbotsford and I discovered my husband had used another alias. The people there knew him and his girlfriend but were unaware that he was married.

I confronted my husband over the phone. He sounded upset and requested that I wait and do nothing. He was coming back in the next few days and wanted me to hear his side of the story. I told him he was out of my life because I felt so dirty and used. I would not tolerate him sleeping with two women at the same time. In addition, I was upset and confused about why
he had married me if he had a girlfriend for over a year. He wept and told me that he was sorry and had fallen in love with me. He wanted a second chance and pleaded for my forgiveness. I thought God forgives sinners when they sincerely repent and he sounded genuinely sorry so I forgave him. At that time, I did not realize that finding out about his girlfriend was an unexpected setback that had almost jeopardized a carefully orchestrated game. He was willing to make meaningless promises as he was coming so close toreceiving his permanent residence in Canada.
